  THE EXPERIMENT: A photo of George W. Bush was downloaded from Google Image Search, and the background was removed using the Magic Wand tool. The Stamp Tool was then used to create multiple copies of various facial features, starting from the center and moving out. The resulting layer was duplicated several times, shifted in position on each layer, and changed to "Multiply" or "Overlay"-style transparencies.   THE EXPERIMENT: Take a photo of a building, preferably with multiple colors on a nice day with good light. Select small, narrow sections of the photo with the marquee tool. Stretch these out using Tranform (Apple-T for Mac users). Work from the center out. Repeat, including stretching out previously stretched-out areas. VR LINK OF THE DAY: Photoshop Tennis.   Retro-Futurist Photo Collage!

  THE EXPERIMENT: A digital remix of a photo I took of the outside of a grocery in northeastern Berlin. The store is all but vanished, and the bordering trees seem to dominate. This makes liberal use of the Photoshop "wand" tool, used to single out parts of the photo, which are then copied and pasted in sequence. I also used the "Direct Select Layer" function a lot, and I have mastered the key commands for moving a layer up or down in the stack. Highly recommended.
